Five assist levels (up from two), a top assist setting about 2× today's High coefficient for more choice on climbs, and a redesigned ride dashboard. The update is free for existing PikaBoost 2 owners, requires no hardware changes, and is planned to roll out through the LIVALL Riding app in October 2026.

Your PikaBoost 2 is getting more ways to match assistance to the ride. The planned free update keeps Standard and High familiar, then adds three stronger settings for when you want more help on flat roads or climbs.

The settings you know, plus room to step up.
Today, Assist Mode offers Standard and High. In the planned update, they become levels 1 and 2. Levels 3 through 5 add progressively stronger assistance for flatter roads and climbs, while revised control tuning is intended to make the response feel more natural. Downhill behavior is not changing.

What does “2× Assist” mean?
The figures below compare assist coefficients, or the relative settings that govern assistance. Using today's High setting (new level 2) as a 1.00× baseline, each added level increases the coefficient over the one before it:
Combined, the planned steps put level 4 at about 1.66× and level 5 at about 2.00× the High / level-2 baseline. These are assist-setting comparisons, not measurements of twice the motor output, speed, or climbing performance.
The motor remains rated at 250 W
The OTA changes assist control, not the hardware's published 250 W continuous motor rating . Follow the power, speed and access rules where you ride.
Higher assist means shorter battery life
Under similar riding conditions, moving from a lower level toward level 5 uses more battery, so ride time and range generally decrease as the selected level increases.

The planned dashboard brings the selected assist level together with ride information. The numbered markers connect each interface element with its explanation.

04 / For owners
Free for PikaBoost 2 owners. Not for PikaBoost 1.
- Look for the October release. The free OTA is planned to roll out through the LIVALL Riding app in October 2026 for PikaBoost 2. PikaBoost 1 cannot receive this feature update.
- Get your PikaBoost 2 ready. Update the LIVALL Riding app, charge the unit, and connect it to your phone with Bluetooth before starting the firmware upgrade.
- Follow the in-app upgrade. The current PikaBoost 2 manual calls this flow Device Upgrade. Follow the release notice and stay on the upgrade screen until it finishes.
- Choose your level while stopped. After the update succeeds, check the selected assist level. Higher settings generally shorten battery runtime and range.
